The primary objective of this project has been to enable emulsification of water into distillate fuels, also referred to as marine gas oil and marine diesel oil. By emulsification of water into fuel it is possible to drastically reduce the NOx emission. The project has identified suitable emulsifying agents that can form a stable emulsification of water with distillate fuels. The emulsion has been tested on a test engine with good results.
