Waste

Waste handle by Crane

The Danish waste policy continues the effort to reduce environmental impact and climate effects from waste. At the same time the policy has a specific focus on resource use.

Waste Strategy and Waste Prevention
The overall aim of the waste strategy is to recycle at least 65 % of the total waste and to landfill at the most 6 % of the total waste amounts in 2012.

Electronical waste (WEEE)
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) is implemented through the Danish WEEE statutory order.

Shipments of waste
Transboundary movement of waste is regulated in Regulation 1013/2006 on shipment of waste. Under these rules waste can either be shipped as greenlisted waste or the waste has to be notified.

The Danish National Waste Register
Foreign waste conveyor, broker, dealer and collector must be registered in the Danish National Waste Register.
