Pesticides (Plant Protection Products)

Hand adjusting Sprinkler Head

Legislation on pesticides is extensive, with many requirements for the professional user, importer or distributor. Regulations follow EU legislation and guidelines and ensure that the impact of pesticides on the environment and on human health is kept to a minimum.

Applicants for autorisation submitted after 14 June 2011
Your application will be considered under the new procedures of the EU Pesticide Regulation which has just come into force.

Applications for authorisation submitted before 14 June 2011
If, however, an application was made before 14 June 2011 or you already have an existing authorisation the application will be covered by transitional provisions.

Professional user
Legislation on pesticides is extensive, with many requirements for the professional user of pesticides.

Reducering the impact on the environment
Several initiatives are underway to minimise the impact of pesticides. The government’s Green Growth plan is an important example of such an initiative.

Pesticides statistics
Annual statistics are produced on the sales of pesticides in Denmark. These include, for example, statistics on sales to farmers.

Grant programmes
You can apply for a grant, either for research into plant protection substances, or for the application for approval and authorisation of alternative pesticides.

Find authorised pesticides
The "Authorised Pesticides" overview covers products that have been authorised and whose labels have been approved.
