The Environment Action Programme (EAP) is the framework for the EU's overall environmental policy development. The first Environmental Action Plan was adopted in 1973 and the sixth and current EAP came into force in 2002.
6th EU Environmental Action ProgrammeThe 6th Environmental Action Programme sets out the framework for environmental policy-making in the European Union for the period 2002-2012 and outlines actions that need to be taken within 4 priority areas.
7th EU Environmental Action ProgrammeThe 7th EAP replaces the 6th, which expires in summer 2012. Here, the "green transition" will be a central theme.
