In Denmark, industrial production and pollution limits are governed by regulations. Read about regulations on industrial air pollution limits.
Regulation of industrial air pollutionDanish companies are obliged to use the best available technology (BAT). BAT means that overall pollution is minimised. This is also true for companies producing air pollutants. Typically, industrial pollution is the result of a manufacturing process or production of energy by burning gas, coal, waste or the like.
Statutory Orders and guidelinesThe Danish EPA's Statutory Orders are directed at either specific branches or emissions of specific substances, while the guidelines explain that companies are obliged to limit the emission of pollutants and endeavour to have the least possible impact on nature and the environment. Also, they are used by the state and municipalities as the basis for industrial pollution regulation.
