Environmental inspections
The municipalities of Denmark and the Environmental Protection Agency must conduct environmental inspections. Inspections must investigate compliance with the legislation and rules.

Environmental permits for industry
The largest and potentially most heavily polluting industrial installations are covered by the Order of Environmental permitting and split between two annexes.

Industrial air pollution
To ensure prevention and control of air pollution from industrial installations they must be operated in accordance with general principles governing basic obligations including emission and immission limit values for air polluting substances or equivalent parameters.

Offshore activities
The discharges of polluting substances to the sea from offshore activities are regulated through discharge permits, international agreements for the North Sea area and the National Environmental Offshore Action Plan.

Seveso sites
The amendment of the Order on risk describes control of major hazard accidents involving dangerous substances.
