An eco-technology is any technology, that either directly or indirectly improves the environment. That includes technologies which limit pollution, lead to more environmentally friendly products and processes, more efficient management of energy and resources.
Examples include light-emitting diodes, systems for cleaning the air in cities, technology which improves wood stoves, water treatment, enzymes for animal feed and washing powder, biofuel production, energy-efficient pumps and the substitution of chemicals with less hazardous ones.
