48 mio. Danish Kroner (6,4 mio. Euro) has been allocated to perform surveys of all substances on the List of undesirable substances (LOUS) during the period 2012-2015.
The purpose is to review all the substances on the Danish Environmental Protections Agency’s List of Undesirable substances, in order for the Danish EPA to be able to assess the need for risk management for each substance or substance group . Examples of management are legislation, substitution/phasing out, classification and labelling, waste management or information.
The surveys consist of colleting and structuring of existing information.
Activities in 2012Surveys on the first 10 substances /substance groups within LOUS, was put out to tender in March 2012, with a budget of 2. mio. DKK.

The final surveyreports will be delivered in December 2012. Hereafter,the Danish EPA will develop a strategy for the future management of each substance. The reports will be published and can be found here when they are finished.
