Reducing shipping emissions

In order to ensure compliance with international obligations, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Danish Shipowners' Association has entered into a collaboration to prevent pollution from ships.

The Partnership is setting long-term objectives for cleaner shipping and creating a strategy for efforts to reduce air pollution from ships.

Common initiatives are:

• raising awareness of the importance of reducing air pollution from shipping. This includes the dissemination of information on IMO regulations on prevention of air pollution from ships.
• promoting the development of new technologies to improve the environment.
• strengthening the dialogue between project participants.

Moreover, the partnership's participants have agreed to communicate the common initiatives.
