Environmental Technologies for Livestock Holdings

BAT (Best Available Techniques)
The guidelines for BAT have been developed as a part of the agreement on livestock holdings between the Danish EPA and Danish Local Government (Kommunernes Landsforening (KL)).

The purpose of these standards is to assist the municipalities in setting the BAT requirements and to ensure a uniform practice between the municipalities in defining the BAT requirements for livestock holdings. The BAT-standards conditions include emission limit values for ammonia and phosphorus.

List of Environmental Technology
The Environmental Technology List is a list of the technologies that have been documented through tests to be environmental efficient and operational stable. The list is being updated, when the new technologies have been accepted to be listed. The list supports the Environmental Approvals for Livestock Holdings. 

The VERA - scheme
The VERA is an international organization and is established to evaluate and verify the environmental technologies. The VERA aims to promote more confidence to the stakeholder.
